How do candidates "launder" illegal campaign contributions?

Hillary reports them as speaking fees. Companies are limited in the amount they can donate to political candidates and it is NOT tax deductible. BUT if a company hires someone to give a speech there is no limit on what they pay that candidate and it is a business expense which IS tax deductible. Pretty cool. I love the creativity.

The media’s going nuts that Hillary Clinton took three big paychecks for three speeches at Goldman Sachs. At $225,000 a pops that’s pretty good scratch – but it’s just the tip of the iceberg.

She’s been very, very busy, raking in millions in a three-year stretch since she left her post as the Secretary of State. Her defense? It varies from “It’s what they offered me” to the hilarious, “I happen to think we need more conversations about what’s going on in the world.” Pricey “conversations” indeed.
Here’s a list of the 92 “conversations” that Clinton has had in just the past three years. The total: $21.7 million.

It's not where the money came from, it's where the money went to, that makes all the difference. If the money went into her campaign coffers, then the money is campaign contributions. If the money went into her pocket, then it becomes taxable income.

Since most of these speeches occurred before she declared her candidacy, and therefore had no campaign coffers to fill, then we can only conclude that the money went into her own pocket as taxable income. Wish I could make that much for a speech.

Nothing to see here. Just another right wing attempt to muddy the waters and make something seem nefarious, when it really isn't.

I don't think HRC invented money laundering. How much did Trump pay in Taxes in the past 5 years? I think Manafort figured out how to launder 2.2 million through off shore bank accounts as a foreign agent. Every politician or wealthy person has accountants that know how to bend the rules and avoid paying the maximum (or in Trumps case, even the minimum). And how many of you claim legitimate deductions of business expenses and and property tax, state taxes, or interest on home mortgage? We all take the deductions we can. But those that make more benefit more from "the system".
