PVT Coleton Reser3840370

I was discharged on May 21st, 2018. I had knee displacement issues that was causing pain and arthritis in my knee due to overtraining to prepare for RASP following my AIT. The accumulated over-training and stress of jumping caused me to be unable to walk without pain. I was not granted MEB and I received and Honorable discharge. On my DD-214 the doctor stated that I would heal, but that any re-entry to the military could result in greater injury. I joined because i was homeless, and i'm still experiencing that. I NEED to get back into the army, especially now that i know what resulted in my injury, and how to avoid it. What are the chances of getting the waver, and how fast can I get it?How difficult will it be for me to get a waiver?2018-07-31T00:33:51-04:00PVT Coleton Reser3840370

I was discharged on May 21st, 2018. You will have to talk to a recruiter to get a better ideaResponse by 1SG Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 31 at 2018 1:26 AM2018-07-31T01:26:07-04:002018-07-31T01:26:07-04:00SGT Private RallyPoint Member3840407

Respectfully, despite your current situation, the medical folks believed that putting back in the military could result in greater injury. The military hasn’t stopped training hard, and it won’t. There’s a chance you’ll get reinsured, and more severely.

If you joined simply to break a streak of homelessness, I’d say you joined for the wrong reason. There are far easier ways to get a paycheck and off the streets than the military.

Best of luck.Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 31 at 2018 1:29 AM2018-07-31T01:29:30-04:002018-07-31T01:29:30-04:00CSM Darieus ZaGara3841488

Go to the VA Hospital seek support, they have a couple of programs you should qualify for that would train you while paying a decent stipend. In the end they also assist with job placement. HUDVASH is on of them and its a great program.

I would also recommend setting up a good community around you.

Get to the VA hospital and register for benefits. I also usually recommend the DAV as a helpful service organization since they dont typically sit around drinking and telling tall tales.Response by PV2 M B made Aug 1 at 2018 10:45 AM2018-08-01T10:45:19-04:002018-08-01T10:45:19-04:00Lt Col Charlie Brown6690467

Reach out to the Red Cross Hero care network
[login to see] Response by Lt Col Charlie Brown made Jan 25 at 2021 7:20 AM2021-01-25T07:20:22-05:002021-01-25T07:20:22-05:002018-07-31T00:33:51-04:00
