A bad conduct discharge isn't easy to get so you really screwed up bad. You chances fall in two categories, slim and none. Fight it if you like but it will be like climbing a straight vertical ice all with no equipment, not even cleats. Good luck to you but don't hold your breath.Response by Cpl Vic Burk made Feb 2 at 2021 7:42 PM2021-02-02T19:42:10-05:002021-02-02T19:42:10-05:00PFC Private RallyPoint Member6715718<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You'll have to get a waiver for the RE code first. Then worry about the separation code from there. You'll have to seek the US army discharge view board. I'd seek VA or find a local VSO who may be willing to help you work through the upgrade process. At best you may be able to get the RE code upgraded to a 3. Even then you'll need a waiver for the separation narrative. If this is something illegal that would require jag or legal advice. Normally it can't happen unless war or something breaks out. Forget the reserves or active duty. Only a national guard recruiter may be able to help an even then it will be hard. I'd say look into becoming a police officer or something at the state level. Federal jobs would even be hard with a BCD.Response by PFC Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 2 at 2021 9:38 PM2021-02-02T21:38:37-05:002021-02-02T21:38:37-05:00A1C Johnny Le6715753<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>So I think you have a better chance of joining the national guard, what did you do for a BCD?Response by A1C Johnny Le made Feb 2 at 2021 10:11 PM2021-02-02T22:11:21-05:002021-02-02T22:11:21-05:00MSG Private RallyPoint Member6715813<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>The Army giving you a BCD via Courts Martial and an RE-4 non waiverable code......yea, the odds are not in your favor.
