Looks like politics saved him. Hillaryous Clinton is guilty of even worse and will suffer even less than Patraeus.

Plea bargain plain and simple, bargain for not going to trial. Trial was weighed by both sides, this was an agreement both sides could deal with. His name and career destroyed, Eric Holder wanted to mop up loose ends before leaving.

I've always wondered how Broadwell avoided prosecution. My thought always was that she cooperated with the feds in exchange for immunity. Instead, it appears to be a political decision to avoid media backlash.
It is one thing, a bad thing, to give classified information to someone without the appropriate clearance or a need to know. It is another, worse thing to duplicate classified information for personal use. The investigation seems to show that Broadwell had an extensive history of this. Yet nothing.

This article infuriates me.

I had been under the impression we were talking about some notes he gave her that might have been classified after the fact or what not.

Had no idea he specifically told her they were classified and she took pictures and stored them on her personal computer - completely inexcusable, especially given the fact she's an intel officer in the Army reserves.

Both of them should have fried for this.
