How can Veterans who successfully transitioned from the military pay it forward for Vets getting out?

Pave the way for those transitioning by demonstrating reliability and professionalism in your work place. If you stand out as a good representation for veterans the employers are more likely to look for another vet. Set the standard high.

At Fort Richardson Alaska the Soldier for Life Center (formerly known as ACAP) brings Veterans to talk about their transition experience at the end of the TAP week. It is also a great Networking event. The center also brings at least one service member half way through transition.

Everyone gets to tell their experiences. What went well and what they could have done better.

My thanks to all the veterans in Alaska that continue to give their time to meet with transitioning soldiers.

I have worked for 18 years as a Veterans Service Officer. I like to think I pay it forward every day assisting veterans and their families.

One of the things that I do is give fellow Vets as much sound and good advice to help make their transition better.
