How can the south be blamed for NYC gun violence?

According to the New York Daily News, Cuomo told Harlem breakfast attendees, “The cruel irony here is that we passed the toughest gun control law in the country here in New York.” He was talking about the SAFE Act, which requires firearm registration, bans “assault rifles,” bans “high capacity” ammunition magazines, and expands background checks, all with the promise of reducing gun violence.

But it has not worked. In fact, gun violence in New York City is surging this year.

Anybody that associates violence with the weapon is mentally handicapped. Weapons don't kill or maim people. People do those things, target the criminals, not the weapons.

Let's associate another epidemic with this idiots logic... Due to drunk driving deaths and problems we will take away alcohol, or even better take away cars and drivers licences. If you cannot drive then you cannot hurt somebody drunk behind the wheel. Problem solved right?

This guy is a moron and deserves to be flipping burgers the rest of his idiotic life.

Explanation follows, not agreement.

He believes that there is an "importation" problem, in that if he can control the market, the problem will go away. As gun control laws are not universal across state lines, in that it is "easier" to get guns outside New York, specifically in states like Virginia (where I live), having "harsher" laws in NY effectively means nothing.

The issue with this mentality is that he doesn't actually understand how gun laws work. He doesn't understand anything about guns, so he is just feeding an ideal, which is easily picked apart.

It can't except in the Potemkin Village of the mind that is gun grabbers ideology. Apparently, none of these geniuses is smart enough to understand the dictionary definition of the word 'criminal.'
