I presented my DD-214, but was told I need the citations that go with it. We never received citations, as we would just login to Marine net or whatever it was and see our awards. What would the next step be? contacting the VA? HQMC? Any ideas? How can I transfer my Marine awards to the Army without having the citations?2020-10-05T11:33:49-04:00SPC Private RallyPoint Member6373482<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I re-entered the military and am serving in the army after a 7 year break with the Marines. Or, if you can still log into the marine database and print them off you can do thatResponse by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 5 at 2020 11:44 AM2020-10-05T11:44:47-04:002020-10-05T11:44:47-04:00SFC Michael Hasbun6373517<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You don't need the citations, the DD-214 is an official source document of record. You're just dealing with an inexperienced S-1. <br />I had the same issues when I switched branches, most personnel clerks have no idea how to deal with prior service, so they default toArmy'isms (the Army doesn't use the Unit Diary system), not realizing that most branches don't give out certificates for half of what the Army does.Response by SFC Michael Hasbun made Oct 5 at 2020 11:49 AM2020-10-05T11:49:30-04:002020-10-05T11:49:30-04:00SSgt Private RallyPoint Member6375317<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Personal awards you should have citations, unit awards you may need to go back and find the maradmin authorizing it, and proof that you were in the assigned unit. or utilize the Unit awards manual and proof that you were in the assigned unit.Response by SSgt Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 6 at 2020 4:44 AM2020-10-06T04:44:23-04:002020-10-06T04:44:23-04:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member6376690<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>One of my peers at ALC was a PS marine. He contacted someone at the marine HR department i dont know the lingo. But anyhow they printed off his entire record and mailed it to him. He got all of his awards ipermed and was good to go. But like others stated a DD214 is official proof, just from s1 side it makes entering the awards harder because they need the date of the award for your ERBResponse by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 6 at 2020 1:25 PM2020-10-06T13:25:10-04:002020-10-06T13:25:10-04:00SGT Michael Hearn6378162<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Good luck I have tried to get my Red hat badge no luckResponse by SGT Michael Hearn made Oct 6 at 2020 11:59 PM2020-10-06T23:59:11-04:002020-10-06T23:59:11-04:002020-10-05T11:33:49-04:00
