How can I reverse a part of my MEPs paperwork that says I am red/green color deficient?

I’ve been interested in possibly reclassing to 35L Counterintelligence, but on my MEPs paperwork it’s says that I am Red/Green Color Deficient, when I went to a civilian optometrist I asked her to give me a color blindness exam, she stated that I am NOT colorblind, is there anyway I can try to reverse that part of my MEPs paperwork? It’s a real hinder to my future career.

Just put your application into the CI branch and let them deny you if they feel it's a significant issue.

There should be 3 tests done at MEPS, Im assuming you did the Poly Isochromatic Plates (The dot test), FALANT (2 lights arranged vertically) and the Red/Green Vivids test (they literally show you a green, red and black set of cards). In the Army you only have to pass one to show you have acceptable Red/Green color vision.

If you failed the RGV test you're screwed.

I failed the PIP test and passed the other 2, no where on my paperwork did I see anything that stated I was officially color deficient and I was there 6 months ago.

You can always go to your provider and request an eye exam. Just explain your reason. I dont see why they wouldn't put in a referral.

Generally speaking there are two ways to beat documentation of ANY sort in the Army. The first is with contradicting (and usually more recent) documentation. If Doc A say you are 5'6", go to Doc B and have him document you as being 5'8". In your case, have that civilian optometrist DOCUMENT that you are not colorblind. Your word that she said you aren't isn't good enough.

The second way to beat documentation os to prove factual inaccuracy in the documentation. If yoiur enlistment contract was for Matty Ferrer, you go back with your Driver's license, birth certificate, and/or Social Security card, and show that your name is Matthew, not Matty. This method of documatation correction almost always involves... You guessed it.... More documentation.

The Army will most likely send you to a Army doc for verification or just send the paperwork from your provider to the army doc for a review and stamp if approval. I would assume that the Army will send you for a third opinion... hopefully they don’t say you’re colorblind.

You can go to the civilian doctor and get the letter stating that you are not color blind and then go to the military one and get a letter from them that states the same thing. Unfortunately you just have to keep on getting documents that states that. So that when you go to reclass they will have that in there but at that time you will probably need a waiver to be put through where they will ask for you guessed it more documentation.

Let me clarify what I said, because it may have been vague.
Firs, you cannot ever change what the MEPS entered into your records. Those are permanent.
Second, you do not need to change what the MEPS entered into your records.

At no point in the CI application will anyone be going into your OMPF to pull you MEPS physical. I have helped put a lot of people into CI, and at no time has anyone ever had to provide their physicals. There is no code on your ERB or any other database that tracks if you are colorblind. That is voluntarily supplied information once you have left the MEPS. If you are not actually colorblind, you can submit your CI application. If you don't know if you are colorblind, there are tests online you can take that will tell you.

If your MEPs paperwork said you were Red Green deficient, how did you get passed for 31B? From what I remember, you cannot be a 31B and have Red/Green vision issues.
