When you complete IET, you can go find an Army AD recruiter and work on requesting a conditional release DD368 approved by the first GO in your chain of Command. This takes a while and may be flat out denied. Numerous posts about this on RP.

2. As far as deployment, your unit will have to be on orders for a deployment, when that happens is anyone's guess. RC units were on a 5 home 1 deployed rhythm during the surge in Iraq and Afghanistan. AD units are not even deployed near as much as they were. Units usually know within 18 months of a planned deployment due to the train up and mobilization requirements. It's almost etched in stone.

3. MOBCOP aka Tour of Duty is a way for RC personnel to find a deploying unit that needs your MOS/grade. It's a website clearing house of individual deployers. Many sates and Reserve commands will direct you here when you drop a conditional release packet.

Recommend you focus on finishing IET then look at transferring.Response by LTC Jason Mackay made Jul 6 at 2020 1:13 PM2020-07-06T13:13:48-04:002020-07-06T13:13:48-04:00SFC Kelly Fuerhoff6076377

You have to go see an AD recruiter when you get done with AIT. Let's hope it stays that way for awhile.Response by SFC Kelly Fuerhoff made Jul 6 at 2020 1:19 PM2020-07-06T13:19:08-04:002020-07-06T13:19:08-04:00MAJ Private RallyPoint Member6076379

You need to finish AIT before anything else can happen.
In order to transfer from NG to active, you will have to submit a packet and request a release from your contract/NG. This isn't likely going to happen because your state just invested money into your training, out of the state budget.
If you would like to deploy, there is a website ( https://mobcop.aoc.army.pentagon.mil/ ) where you can go and see what deploying units need additional positions field. You can search by rank and/or MOS. You will need to build a profile and upload the required documents.

It's not their job and they can't do anything about it. You'll have to wait until you finish IET and submit a request through your unit. Highly doubtful it will be granted because they just spent a lot of money out of their budget to train you.Response by LTC Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 6 at 2020 1:32 PM2020-07-06T13:32:44-04:002020-07-06T13:32:44-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member6077802

Go see your National Guard liasonResponse by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 6 at 2020 9:49 PM2020-07-06T21:49:07-04:002020-07-06T21:49:07-04:00PVT Private RallyPoint Member6077852

I have to go to my DS so they can get ahold of the liaison here which is the only reason I go to them. Once you get back to your unit, you can find a recruiter that form DD368 Conditional Release, which you then take back to your command and send it up to the first General in your chain of command to sign off. Whether he does or not generally depends on manning levels or sometimes on personal hardship. When I was commander and S-1, the state I was in rarely approved anyone that hadn't completed at least half of their contract, so be very aware that they don't have any obligation to release you.
Others below have posted how to mobilize with a deploying unit, those depend on the need for your rank and MOS. You can also look at Active Duty Special Works, which are generally short term Active position that are often not MOS sensitive.Response by CPT Lawrence Cable made Jul 7 at 2020 1:38 PM2020-07-07T13:38:17-04:002020-07-07T13:38:17-04:002020-07-06T13:03:46-04:00
