Is there some way (would it even be permitted?) for someone to volunteer to do this? How can I find a volunteer bugler for a funeral?2019-09-16T14:20:26-04:00Brad Miller5030075

I have heard that not all the National Cemetaries can provide a bugler for every military funeral. Try Bugler's for Funerals- there use to be a listing. Many VFW/Am Legion, etc. that have Color Guards also do Funeral honors.Response by SGM Bill Frazer made Sep 16 at 2019 3:14 PM2019-09-16T15:14:09-04:002019-09-16T15:14:09-04:00SFC Michael D.5030272

VFW?

https://www.buglesacrossamerica.org/

The Funeral Director should know how to do this. The Funeral detail is also coordinated through the Funeral Director to the Army CAOC or service equivalent. A unit in the region is tasked to,provide Funeral honors.

Is it permitted? Yes, for an eligible person's funeral. Eligibility is determined by the VA. The gate way is the DD214 or historic equivalent presented to the Funeral Director.Response by LTC Jason Mackay made Sep 16 at 2019 7:02 PM2019-09-16T19:02:28-04:002019-09-16T19:02:28-04:00MAJ Private RallyPoint Member5031253

Contact some of the local high school marching bands.
