How can I create new programs for the Army (National Guard)? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/how-can-i-create-new-programs-for-the-army-national-guard <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>As an extension of the new FM 7-22 doctrine (H2F), myself and others are working to create programs/initiatives within our State to improve overall readiness and lifestyles of National Guard Soldiers. I have a list of cost-effective program ideas (running groups, equipment sharing, cooking courses, etc.) with details (purpose, preparation, possible risks, implementation process, future growth, etc.) on how to get these initiatives off the ground (currently, these &quot;initiatives&quot; are in the form of many word documents. What I&#39;m curious about is how final products/requests should look, and how they should be delivered/presented? What will higher-ups be looking for (to deny or approve)? What have any of you learned from in the past that may cause delays/pushback? What is the process like after these requests leave my office? What it would encompass is the proposed idea, the current process the proposed idea would replace (if applicable), the pros and cons, and the cost.<br /><br />And being that this is for the Guard...and I am guessing either Guard wide or just the State....I would recommend starting at the State level. Then, for this you would need to ensure that decision memo/brief gets to TAG...or you can get an audience with TAG to pitch your brief. Lean Six Sigma process improvement project. LSS Program provided preformatted slides for each phase of a process improvement project. Customizing these slides for each of your initiatives will help leadership understand what you&#39;re proposing and how it can be implemented. The trick is finding the slides. A process improvement office at your BN level or higher should have the slides or know where they are on the web. Also possibly an Army Process Improvement site on AKO may have the slides.<br />2. Project Management presentation. Use the format Project Management Institute (PMI) recommends for project managers to show how their project is progressing through project management phases. Look for a person in your unit who is a Project Management Professional (PMP). He or she will have access to the PMI website resources (<a target="_blank" href="http://www.PMI.org">http://www.PMI.org</a>). Formats for reports and briefings may be available. Additionally, a PMP can help you manage your projects.<br /><br />If you strike out on finding these resources, message me individually and I&#39;ll try to provide some of the formatted briefings. <div class="pta-link-card answers-template-image type-default"> <div class="pta-link-card-picture"> </div> <div class="pta-link-card-content"> <p class="pta-link-card-title"> <a target="blank" href="http://www.PMI.org).">www.PMI.org).</a> </p> <p class="pta-link-card-description"></p> </div> <div class="clearfix"></div> </div> Lt Col Jim Coe Fri, 24 Dec 2021 15:12:46 -0500 2021-12-24T15:12:46-05:00 Response by SFC Ralph E Kelley made Dec 24 at 2021 7:03 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/how-can-i-create-new-programs-for-the-army-national-guard?n=7439567&urlhash=7439567 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>The Army tried to &#39;integrate&#39; Zen and other types of exercises in the 1980/90s - until everyone started to gain weight and filing the AFRT. Experimenting society fads will detract from the care given to the physical care of soldiers. Maybe the ones pushing these have finally focused on the physical/mental health of the soldiers . I hope they assess the H2F doctrine on a periodic basis to ensure it is being effective. Try a few programs, document results in videos. Get the O-6 and above&#39;s attention. Focus on &quot;READINESS&quot;.
