Good luck. There are very few times when the Army offers two year enlistments, and only with certain MOSs when they do. Even then, it's two years plus x amount of months for all the training. So, two years, 4 months of Basic and at least 2 months of AIT. Remember, contented people rarely post stuff online - it's usually malcontents. If YOU enjoy cooking and want to make that a career, then you should just do it. I know it seems unbelievable, but 4 years will FLY by. That said, if you've already signed your enlistment contract and taken the oath at MEPS...you can't. You're in for 4. If you haven't done that yet, then talk to your recruiter. They are your chain of command right now. If they cannot do anything to change the contract, they will likely not be able to, do your best to look forward to 4 years.

For what it is worth, I can go on Youtube RIGHT NOW and watch videos of Infantry guys pissing and moaning about how they hate the Army and the job. I did it for 8 years, and I miss it right now. Just because it is on Youtube, doesn't make it your life. Here is the thing... some folks my say “it sucks”. But those are the ones who normally I had to UCMJ them for lack of discipline or other infractions. If a soldier is dedicated s/he won’t have time to YouTube stuff since a/he will be training, working, and getting an education. The possibilities are endless of you apply yourself. Anyway, to answer your question: can you change your MOS? Possibly but at what cost? And not all is money.
