What benefit do you see to not being prior service? You can’t erase your time in the Military, it’s why recruiters always tell thier applicants that joining is a serious commitment. As for gaining rank as a civilian, that’s not really possible. Unless you persue a professional credential or education (Medicine, Law, or Chaplain) you’ll always require a grade determination prior to re-enlisting. There are a few jobs in the enlisted ranks that you can enter at a higher grade, but again they require training (LPN, etc.) What was your RE Code? That will play a part too. Not many people ETS as PFC.Response by MAJ Samuel Weber made Sep 2 at 2018 10:04 AM2018-09-02T10:04:28-04:002018-09-02T10:04:28-04:00SGT Joseph Gunderson3930780<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Uh... no... Gain your rank. Later on request to be released to active duty, or apply for an AGR position. Your RE3 means you'll need waivers, but the Reserve components are the most likely to accept you.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 2 at 2018 6:09 PM2018-09-02T18:09:20-04:002018-09-02T18:09:20-04:00SPC Private RallyPoint Member3931940<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You will not have an option to join as if you never served because you served over 179 days of Active Duty Service. I just Reenlisted as a PS and ship out on September 12th. You will have a slim picking for an MOS slot if you reenlist and the MOS you qualified in before is not open. I just went down to sign my contract week before last and the jobs they offered were the following. 92F, 92G, 91B, 88M, & 88N. Out of what they had to offer I chose 88N.Response by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 2 at 2018 6:31 PM2018-09-02T18:31:45-04:002018-09-02T18:31:45-04:002018-09-02T09:39:47-04:00
