How are you supposed to set up your Ribbons/medals for BLC?

I am about to go to BLC and was told to get my ASUs in order including all the awards I got from the recent deployment. My question is, should I wear my ribbons with my medals or just my ribbons? if yes to medals should I get Big medals or small medals? Its only going to be to graduate BLC in. Unfortunately trying to research this online is leading nowhere. Everything is close to an answer but not actually helpful.

SGT Private RallyPoint Member, you will set up your ribbons only (no medals) on your ASUs per the order of precedence from highest to lowest. SFC Brian Johnston gave you the references to do it correctly. What bothers me most is your NCOs not helping you....whether out of laziness or lack of knowledge....'tis very bothersome.

Unless things have changed a lot in the past 19 years (likely), the only time full medals are worn is with the blues - which most lower enlisted didn't even own. Of course back then it was still called PLDC so who knows what has changed in the interim. Although, and I am not trying to sound like a jerk here, isn't every soldier expected to know how to put together their dress uniform? When I went to schools or promotion boards/soldier of the month I always had to put everything together just using the AR-670-1 and a ruler...

I truly, 100%, recommend rackbuilder.com. I use this to order any ribbons I may have missing but also to reference against what any literature shows. There is a small leaders instruction book at local PX's that I've found very useful. Comes with tools and tricks to ensure placement of pins and labels are spaced properly.

Posted with the caveat that when I went to WLC at FIG in 2012 we didn't wear ASU's at all - everything was in ACU's or PT's. That's a good thing since I didn't have ASU's at the time being a fairly recent rejoin after a break in service.

Ribbons. I also recommend you go to EZ-Rackbuilder. It is a website where you can select your ribbons and it will show you the proper order for them. It will save you time instead of flipping through a regulation book.

Check out Army Regulation 601-210. It specifies how to wear your ribbons and when to wear your medals. Hope this helps you! Good luck with BLC and the Hanks for being an 11B. I did promotions for 2/41 and 4/41 and th n when we did it he first Battalion rotation, I worked with 1/41 and 3/41! Hope this helps!

Clue #1: get ASUs in order. Not Dress Mess.

Often, this level of military education will use dress uniform and AR/DA-PAM 670-1 as a good practical exercise on how to use and research a regulation. This is a skill to need to know as an NCO, and this task is familiar enough to provide a good lesson without being too challenging.

With all the stuff being jammed into your skull during this course, it wouldn't surprise me if you didn't wear it, but just had a hanger inspection.
