I can not speak to your MOS questions and all, but been a lot of training going on around here with units being cycled to different places. Off base housing is a joke in Junction City. If you try in Manhattan, just be aware that there is a major university there and those that would rent/lease to you know you have to live somewhere. Junction city sales tax is 9.75% and Manhattan's is 8.85%. If you think of buying a house, get one outside of eithers city's limits. Do not look at Ogden, as most good houses are new and there is a 30-year special tax in addition to your mortgage. Ogden's south side is a dump. Milford, Wakefield, and Riley are some of your better bets, but I really wouldn't live within their city limits. Best places to get gas in the area is in Junction city: currently going for $2.09/gal. If you do go with off post, try getting a place with natural gas stove and heating. Electrical isn't bad, but it depends on who you are going through. Hunting and fishing is great in the area. Riley. I am a 91X. It depends on the brigade and battalion you go to. 1ABCT is on rotation to Europe and 2ND Brigade just got back and is ramping up for NTC if I am not mistaken. I don't mind the field too much, but I do mind going to the field the most during the coldest part of the year, but that's what snivel gear is for haha.

On post housing isn't too shabby, a lot of older housing was torn down this past year and they're currently getting ready to build new housing that should be done by the end of next year. Off post isn't terrible either, if you want to get away from the Army during your off time, Manhattan is a college town about 15ish minutes away and always has a lot going on and more to do. Junction City isn't terrible either, but it has its less than desirable spots. Manhattan is nice but it’s a bit of a drive and traffic stacks up quickly in and out of post. Post has a lot of really new housing units that are pretty nice. I’ve lived on and off, on post was way better. The OPTEMPO is quick, you’re always training, rotating, or deploying, they do a lot of field exercises in the BCTs and the post does post wide exercises once or twice a year that last about a month or so.
