How are prior service with 4 years of separation treated in army bct?

I’m a prior service marine from 2006 joint the army infantry I’m just wondering if I’m going to receive any hate down the line of training and when I get to my first army unit. Since I was a pog ?

Its the Army. Unlike the Marines, everybody's shit stinks. Nobody is going to judge you on your prior service or MOS, only your current performance.

No one will care. We have a lot of Marines in the Army and the Infantry is pretty much the same same wherever you go. Getting dirty and shooting guns is the same whether you're in the Corps, Army or National Guard. The only difference is the units that train more, do it better.

You will receive a certain amount of respect as long as you don’t boast. Fit in and kick but! You may receive some good old fashioned ribbing from the DI’s. As for the newer trainees they will have respect for you, again as long as you work hard and fit in. Your experience and leadership should shine through. Thank you for your service.

Honestly, nobody is going to give a shit that you were a Marine before once you put on your blue cord. Just don't go into it thinking "Oh, I passed Marine boot, therefor I know everything about Infantry OSUT" and you'll be fine.

I mean unless you're asked dont bring it up. But When i was in basic there was prior service navy and the drill sergeants loved him. Of course it all depends on where you go and who you're with. But since you're already "soldierized" and know how to act. they most likely wont give you as much shit as the other trainees.

I went from the MARINES to the Army, genes a rank , from air wing to artillery . Best move I ever made, retired now 3 years Marines 37 years army.
