Frequently they will have knowledge of safe low-cost housing options in the local economy or possibly established agreements with local private housing providers.

For housing assistance, I suggest you contact your state's Veteran Affairs Office. The name varies from state to state, but usually can easily be found by just putting the state and those terms (i.e., Kentucky Veteran Affairs Office) in an internet search engine. In this case the 'Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs'*.

Speak to a counselor about housing assistance available from the state - they should be knowledgeable about the federal and state programs available for veterans as well as being able to refer you to other programs that could assist (i.e., Section 8 housing which isn't specific to veterans) if you are struggling with housing costs.
------------------------------------------
* https://installations.militaryonesource.mil/search?program-service=8/installation=fort-campbell
* Kentucky DVA - https://veterans.ky.gov/Pages/index.aspx

Housing Office/Government Housing | Fort Campbell | Contact Info, Phone Numbers & Address |...

Search for contact information for Military Programs & Local Base Services.
