Household good shipment (HHG) to overseas upon separation?

I am going to retire to Australia but I don't completely understand what it will cost me to ship my HHG. I have asked about retirement benefits, (briefing) all I get is come to the quarterly retirement brief. I am not trying to be the guy asking and taking up everyones time asking questions only about his situation.
Does anyone know how this works

I have heard different things, but I am looking for how much am I entitled to pay etc....

Anyhelp is better than what I know now.

It has been my understanding that you are entitled to "one last" move upon retirement. When I retired, my HHG were sent from VA to SC at no cost to me. Granted the distance and logistics involved with your move is quite a bit more challenging.

From what I recall, the military will cover the cost of household good shipment to your initial home of record when you joined the military. If you want to ship your goods beyond that, the difference comes out of your pocket.

This can be good or bad for people, as it seems somewhat arbitrary where their last duty station is, and how close it comes to where their home of record was when they joined the military.

IIRC when we retire, they will do one final HHG shipment to your address of record. So if you are moving to Australia, you need to have an Australian address for your address of record.
