While I'm pretty strict on the whole "Subject must be a question" thing here and spend a lot of my time adding question marks or rewording the subjects into the questions, this is just so awesome that I'm leaving it alone. The things your father did CDR Michael Goldschmidt along with everyone else that fought in the Battle of the Bulge, are truly amazing. From dealing with daily shelling to being low on ammo and low on proper winter clothes, the things these men endured are truly amazing. Thanks for sharing the article and congrats to your dad for turning 90!

Wow, that's cool! Interesting how WWII vets never really want to talk a lot about there experiences. I had uncles who served and would never tell me much about what they did. Maybe in that era, that's how they dealt with what we now call PTS? There's so much rich history in stories like your Dad's it's a pity that more wasn't shared especially because everything was still word of mouth or written accounts of what took place.
