He said he did all that so that his mom would be "proud of him". His mom would've been just as proud if he returned with his Spc. patch and no Airborne badge.

Serves him right. I don't understand why Soldiers feel the need to 'inflate' their experience. His family and friends are proud of him regardless.

Young dumb and full of c $m but all in all busted. I was station at fafb for a short time and the px wouldn't let you buy rank you didn't have proof of wearing

I continue to not understand the fakers who have actually have served, but embellish their service... I am not sure which is worse the fakers from within, or the fakers who have never served a day. TSgt Joshua Copeland

It has to be insecurities. Me, I worked with radios. It was pretty interesting work and I'm proud of what I did. But that's not impressive enough for some Signal Intel troops. We found a guy last year who was Signal. Only he "embellished" a bit because in my opinion, radio op was too blah. So he added Special Forces. Sniper School. Up close firefights in Vietnam. The Distinguished Service Cross. I imagine he felt, Now people would like him: now; he was worthy of admiration.
