Stupidity sucks, and it looks and sounds like this kid is loaded with it. Wife and Fiance? Sergeant and Specialist? What was this kid thinking? Or perhaps better yet was he thinking? Stolen Valor while still in uniform? I wonder if he can spell UCMJ?

He said he did all that so that his mom would be "proud of him". His mom would've been just as proud if he returned with his Spc. patch and no Airborne badge.

He had a lot to be proud of! He was an American soldier who did serve in Afghanistan! specially in light of all of the publicity about Stolen Valor he still went ahead and had to embellish it! even if there was no band color guard I'm sure he was wearing his uniform sometime in public especially in a town where people know M they would have been just as proud of him if he just wore his correct insignia! Now he probably lost the chance to be a real SGT! As for his wife, that too is very sad but not as much as the stolen valor thing! He needs a dose of core values!

So instead of just being the Soldier he was which seem to me wasnt baf at all. He embellished to the point where all of his family was happy and proud and he got caught. .So now he will get AR15 for adultery and get charged for stolen valor amongst other things. All I can say is, "Was it Worth it?"
