Hello all, my recode is 1J, AFSC 5R. Is it possible to do a new enlistment since I am not within the gap for the prior service program?

I've talked to recruiter's and they all seem to just give me the run around and not give me a solid answer. If they require a waiver for the time gap I would do that but I know it goes my career field need, I have offered to retrain. That comes down to a money issue with that. If I don't fit into any category with the prior service, why can't i just do a new enlistment with a waiver? This has been the hardest question to get answered. I will read the reg's myself if I have to, just need know which one's to read.
