MSG Brad Sand I hate to say it, but the most logical explanation is "he's crazy" (or was at that point). You cannot account for the actions of a madman.

Walking 19 miles to the next nearest base may have seemed like a perfectly acceptable idea to someone who was off his rocker. We don't get it because, well, frankly, we're sane. Have you ever gotten into an argument with someone that isn't "quite right?"

I'm not trying to justify anything. Far from it. I'm still waiting for the Hearing & CM to take place, because I want all the info to come to light, but "not right in the head" explains so much, and fits with A LOT of the other information already out there.

I was out with about 20,000 other people looking for this ass clown in '09. Just because your E-3 ass don't like how the Army is running the show doesn't mean you get to go on a walk about. I usually am about letting justice work before expressing my opinions, but since me and my team risked our lives for this idiot going into places infidels have no business, I say stick a needle in him and be done with it.

It is the lawyers job to come up with a plausible story to explain his clients actions. Although I believe it is a bunch of malarkey. I still have problem believing how bad it was for him as a prisoner after seeing what he looked like at the swap. He may or may not have been tortured at the beginning. But I do think he was a willing participant in his capture. I personally think he knew what he was doing. He couldn't handle the Coast Guard so now he has chosen to dog the Army with his BS. He deserves to be prosecuted to the maximum. Hopefully the prosecution team has all their ducks in a row and can prove everything.
