Lee?2016-09-29T08:32:03-04:002016-09-29T08:32:03-04:00SPC Erich Guenther1932515

A couple of items here from my perspective. I get why individual families cannot sue a foreign government thing because it should be the U.S. Government suing the other government on the citizens behalf just like we did for Iran. We won legal judgments against Iran for the 1983 Marine Barracks Bombing among other terrorist attacks but so far no payment from the Government of Iran to Victims families. The $1.7 Billion in Iranian funds we released were initially from a weapons order but I also read they were part of the funds frozen to pay the lawsuit settlements if the money was intended for the lawsuit settlements...........why did we give it back to Iran?

Yes Congress passed the law as a political measure in an election year BUT you have to ask yourself this question as well. Would the anger/frustration be there in support of the bill had the U.S. Government taken more aggressive legal action against some of the countries that contributed to 9-11? Again I think we have more than enough legal evidence against Iran and Pakistan with assisting the Taliban and Al Queda both. Look at Iran just with it's technical and material support for IED making in Iraq. They should be paying money for some of the Veteran healthcare in this country as a result of that instead of getting off the hook scott free. Yet, no day in court for either Iran or Pakistan. Free pass for both.

When our close ally Germany releases Red Army Faction terrorists after what should have been a life prison term. No reaction from the United States because we understand they are friends. What about all the victims families and the GI's we lost to these people? Does that not at least deserve a heated response directed towards the German government?

I hate to say this but it also seems the Democrats have an "acceptable civilian losses" theory when it comes to terrorism. That is we should accept civilian losses to terrorism within CONUS as long as they do not exceed a specific level, they do not require any retaliation of any kind other than maybe a few harsh words here and there spoken at a press conference. I think that encourages more terrorist attacks and frustrates Americans. I kind of think the American people deserve a zero tolerance policy in regards to fatalities and a much more aggressive stance by our government in response to each terrorist attack in both the legal and military realm. We need to quit holding back on our punches.

We have a wide range of relaitory measures outside of military action that are never used.Response by SPC Erich Guenther made Sep 29 at 2016 11:04 AM2016-09-29T11:04:37-04:002016-09-29T11:04:37-04:00MCPO Roger Collins1932531

How many times did he campaigning for Hillary against Trump? President Obama had 8 years to help our military and this is how he helped them..No solution to the VA health care problems/scandal. depleted our military, ordered "rules of engagement" on the battlefield that not only tied our battle soldier's hands but put their lives in jeopardy and still refuses to call the enemy our military is fighting by name.
In present day the small contingent forces we have in Iraq and Afghanistan say "While we can see the enemy (weapons in hand) getting closer and closer... we are ordered to remain in a defensive posture and fire only if fired upon"...This is not how you fight an enemy and certainty not how you "protect" our troops who are in harms way.
It took President Obama 6 years.. "6 years" (let that sink in for a moment) to finally change the Ft Hood shooting from "work place violence" to a terrorist attach, despite the shooter shouting Alu ak bar while he gunned downed military personnel their spouses and civilians.
For 6 years he denied certain benefits to those who died and survived this brutal act.
For almost eight years we have had a President who "talked a good game" but the game-book he played by was his mentor's... "Saul Alinsky's" book..."Rules For Radicals".
I also recall when he proudly approached the podium to announce to the World that Osama Bin laden was dead, what he said next "floored me" he announce it was "Seal Team 6" that took him out. I said to myself... "This was a "covert mission" why in the hell did he "out" them by name.
Three months, almost to the day, an Army Helicopter is shot down over Wardak Providence in Afghanistan killing all aboard including "22 Navy Seals" - All members of Seal Team 6.

Despite being a "Constitutional Scholar", he tried and many times has succeeded in circumventing our Constitution and by-passing Congress every chance he got.

He might be a nice guy and yes, definitely he was and remains "presidential" but In my opinion, it will be a good day for America when this President hears "Hail to The Chief" for the final time.Response by SFC Joseph McCausland made Sep 29 at 2016 11:57 AM2016-09-29T11:57:45-04:002016-09-29T11:57:45-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member1932835

so then in everyone's opinion , who was the greatest President in modern history ?Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 29 at 2016 12:39 PM2016-09-29T12:39:32-04:002016-09-29T12:39:32-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member1933596

http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/obama-why-i-wont-say-islamic-terrorism/vi-BBwLhTl
