SSG Private RallyPoint Member 958054 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>A few years prior to retirement, I decided that I wanted a career in which I had control on the hours I worked. At the time I was a recruiter and networking was something we did. I enjoyed it. I thought maybe a career as a recruiter for a company. I met one and the pay wasn't what I wanted. I always liked the ideal of flipping homes, but didn't want to jump into that without some serious research. What job would help me along those lines? Then I figured it out. Real Estate Broker. I haven't been doing this long, but have been successful in many aspects. What I've learned in the Army especially my time as a recruiter has given me tools to be on top of my game. Yes, I work long hours but at the same time it's productive hours and I can manage my time around my family life. That was really important for me. It does get stressful and I think I need that stress. Just from the short time I have been doing this, I've learned alot. Not enough, yet, to want to dive into a flip. I give it a few more months to a year and then I can comfortably tackle that next level. Have you thought about what you will do when you leave the military? 2015-09-11T02:44:44-04:00 SSG Private RallyPoint Member 958054 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>A few years prior to retirement, I decided that I wanted a career in which I had control on the hours I worked. Been planning on my future outside of the Army since I became a Warrant Officer 8 years ago. I'm only at 17 years total service, so I still have 3-5 years of not more time before I will retire and that's if the Army decides to keep me that long, but I think about my post Military career options all the time. My family currently lives in a house that we are not allowed to have a dog, but when we move from here we will get a dog and more than likely it will be a shelter dog or a dog that has been abused, so that we can provide the dog a great home and family. I wouldn't mind taking a Military service dog too. I'm already Reserves, so I have a civilian job that suits my needs.
