In Lumberton, Texas the police are running an ad asking, "Is your drug dealing competition costing you money?" Lumberton Police have come upon a creative way to get drug dealers to turn each other in. It has been reported that so far Texas police have made the arrest of a local drug dealer as a result of the add.

Other police departments, as far away as Edinburgh, Scotland have begun to use this tactic and have had similar if not better results.

If we're lucky maybe they'll all turn each other in. ;-)

I was the Commander of the "Fugitive Apprehension Unit" for our State. We had so many damn fugitives that it was damn right ridiculous. So we sent letters out to whatever address we had on file for them telling them that one of their relatives had passed away and left them a sizable inheritance. We set up a fake shop in one of our Cities and you would not believe how many fugitives actually came in to claim their inheritance. You got to love greed. So worried about drugs??? Uhmmm, worry about child molesters, murders, thieves. Legalize all drugs, Take big pharmaceutical out of it, take drug lords out of it, take the crime out of it. Yea, we will have crack heads all over the place, but we do already. Spend the money that we use on incarceration, and use it on rehabbing people, once they get their wits back to them again. The war on drugs is a useless, and wasteful war.. The people who keep this war going, should be ashamed of themselves. Every single person on this site knows someone that has had their problems with drugs. Should the person you know be in prison?

They needed to include a line for the informant to give their contact information. If the person did that, they needed to be caught anyway because they weren't smart enough to be a small business owner. They needed to be an employee with close immediate supervision, and the prison system would get them used to that.

I've heard of fake sweepstakes letters sent to bail jumpers and people with open bench warrents.
The poor bastards would show up to cheap strip mall store front expecting a prize, only to have the police arrest once they were positively IDed.

The only thing I do not like about this is the picture of a Cannabis leaf. Cannabis should have never been classified as a "drug" and definitely not a schedule 1 drug to begin with, but if you know the real history behind why it was....Anyway, Cannabis is a natural, God-given herb with many healing properties which has helped many especially many veterans.
How about shutting down the REAL drug pushers, the pharmaceutical companies?
