We can all learn a lot from him and his generation. We forget in todays world what these brave airmen soldiers sailors and marines went through and what got them through it and how it influenced how we do our jobs today. A blessing for him to to have forgiven those who mistreated him, that I think is a huge part of healing yourself, I know that it was for me......not that I experienced a POW environment or anything like that.
