It's interesting to listen to the different messages that were sent. The first was more forceful than the second and third requests.

China said it tracked and warned a U.S. Navy warship as it came very close to one of China's artificial islands in contested waters in the South China Sea.

CPT Private RallyPoint Member I don't think they can afford to attack the country that imports so much of their products. Attack a U.S. Warship, denied access to U.S. Waters to a Chinese merchant ship. Escalation ensues. Next thing you know cockroaches rule what's left of the world.

CPT Private RallyPoint Member Actually I think those recordings are from a flyover in May. I don't think they're from the USS Lassen yesterday. Still interesting, though.

As SrA Edward Vong stated, this actually happens quite often. I don't know if it's classified so I won't mention details, but suffice to say I've personally seen this happen before.
