Yes, I realize this is a highly sensitive issue, and I am only posting it for informational purposes only. If this discussion turns heated, derogatory, or mean, I will pull this down in a heartbeat.

According to Breitbart and a variety of other online sources, the group #FuKYoFlag, some elements of #BlackLivesMatter, and the New Black Panther Party are calling for a day of violence against police, military, and other whites in authority on September 11th, advocating the burning of the American Flag, Confederate Flag, British Flag, and the murdering and lynching of whites on this solemn anniversary.

This is very disturbing, as it matches some of the rhetoric I heard from marchers at the BLM protest of the Minnesota State Fair on Saturday. I am very concerned with the direction these groups want to steer us, despite the many valid concerns they do have. What are your thoughts?

MAJ Private RallyPoint Member - Very disturbing. This is fast getting out of control and decisive action must be taken now to stop it. I know --- Very easy to say, but extremely difficult to do.

For starters, these groups should be identified as "hate groups" and dealt with accordingly. If the KKK was marching and calling for wholesale murder of blacks, or if an ultra-conservative group was marching and calling for the murder of gays, the Obama Administration and DOJ would have already pounced on it and shut it down.

The current administration has enabled these groups by their inaction, rhetoric and non-support of the police in racially-charged incidents. It has now gotten out of control and, unfortunately, the only way to get it back under control is the use of force, which will make it worse, at least initially, until control and the rule of law is reestablished.

The USA puts down situations like this in other countries... We need to do it in our own country.

Sir, a few things. BLM had good intentions when it first started and is a "victim" of it's own "success(?)". They had the intent of raising awareness to a problem and originally sought peaceful demonstrations that highlighted that cause. It's morphed into something that is the total opposite of what it was intended to do and will burn itself out in due time. I also don't find fault completely with them because we (as a older generation) allowed this generation to get where it is. I know for a fact that I wouldn't have been able to pull a third of the BS they have done when I was their age and younger. And it's not just a racial thing either. Lack of education, parental responsibilities, and internal fortitude have also allowed the current generation to slip as it has. They've lost perspective and the value of life and there's not much being done to bring them back in line. All of that does not excuse the wanton call for violence, it doesn't excuse the violence that can/has happened in the name of (insert so called martyr here) or anything else. I'm going to take a beating from someone on this, and I'll be told that the KKK did it for a century unstopped and that would be true. I'll take a beating for NEO Nazi's and the underreported violence they call for and execute and that's true. But I'll ask this; is there a difference when BLM, KKK, Neo (anything), NBPP, or a common person calls for violence? It's definitely handled differently between the groups when it shouldn't be. When are we going to realize we are one country, under one flag, indivisible, with justice for all?

This is going to get worse before it gets better. Like SFC. Stephen King, I can not tolerate flag desecration. I can't even drive down the road and leave one one the side of the road that's blown off a car!
The violence is another issue all together. These groups will use a flag desecration to insight local Vets. Then when confronted it will be easy enough to say they were just protesting' that it was the violent Veteran who attacked them at their protest. I caution everyone, if you come across this type of protest. Leave the AO immediately! I know it hurts and wrenches your gut but, a violent altercation where someone could die is not the answer. Especially if they can film it and use your death as propaganda for their cause. Be safe and don't take the bait!

We were deeply impacted by the #BlackLivesMatter march on the Minnesota State Fair this past Saturday. While I respect any group's right to assemble and protest as per their First Amendment Rights to do so, I was troubled by the fact that unlike any other large assembly, be it a pro-life rally or a LGBT pride parade, #BLM was vocal and adamant for two weeks in the local media about it's refusal to obtain a city parade permit, essentially daring St. Paul Police and city officials to challenge and refuse them the opportunity to march. Rashad Turner, the head of #BLM St. Paul was even scheduled to meet with St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman the day prior to the march, but stood him up, vocally taunting the Mayor in the media that he needed to "get his head right on racial equity" before he would be willing to sit with him! The Mayor and the PD essentially caved, and allowed the march to go forward without the permits that any other group would be required to have or be stopped in their tracks and detained. The St. Paul PD provided an escort as marchers chanted "Pigs in a blanket, fry 'em like bacon!" Everyday at the Fair, there is a parade with floats and high school marching bands from all across the state. My son's band was chosen to march on this day. The protest was coming right down the street between the staging area and the fairgrounds right about the time the parade was scheduled to begin. To prevent protesters from gaining access to the grounds, all gates were sealed off, the parade was cancelled, and my son's band, along with several others were caught outside with a mob of protesters laughing at them, taunting them, and hurling profane and grotesque insults at them until police mounted on horseback came and formed a perimeter to seal them off. My son, who has Asperger's Syndrome, still cannot understand why these few hundred people seemed so angry at him, and would say such mean and threatening things to him and the rest of his band-mates. It was a truly ugly experience; and then to see this article!

I can see "in the name of security" banning all of these protests because the threat of violence has already been made. So when the day comes, the police will need to be out in riot gear due to the already verbalized threat. Groups that would peacefully assemble to protest for and against the BLM cause are going to be broken up. The violence that they want they will get. The difference being that the police will be using long guns, and innocent people are going to be hurt.

This whole thing really pisses me off because it is so blatantly divisive, but people just keep following the crowd. When they follow the crowd, they don't have to think for themselves. When they don't have to think for themselves, they forget how to think for themselves. They become the very sheep that the establishment wants them to be. Keep the population fighting amongst themselves so that they are not paying attention to the fact that this country is on a slippery downhill slope.

I agree with COL Jean (John) F. B. that these groups behave like a hate group. Further because they are composed of minority people, you cannot even say that without being labeled as a racist.

There is an old curse that says "may you live in interesting times" this is not what I want my interesting times to be. I wish that everyone could experience living on an isolated military base. There racism is not an option. It is not an option because the people on the base are the only people you have to interact with. You have no choice but to grow beyond petty prejudices, unless you don't mind being an outcast with no human interactions. If everyone got to experience that, then the world would be a better place. I am not saying it would be perfect, some people are just assholes, and will always be that. I am just saying that we need to get past all of this petty bullshit that feeds off itself. It turns normally decent people into brain dead sheep.

Furthermore, when it comes to the military, we take an oath. Our oath is to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. It makes no mention of race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, or anything else. My initial reaction to advocating attacking military members is to treat it as an act of terrorism, treat those who do as enemy combatants, and treat them as an enemy. What do we do when engaged by the enemy? Oh yeah, return fire. Charge them with terrorism, and send them away for a twenty year cooling off period at beautiful Fort Leavenworth Kansas. It sickens me to think that the people, whose freedoms the military protects would in turn attack service members. Maybe it is time for that CCW permit after all.

Allow me to put things into perspective. Last year 150 African Americans were killed by the police vs. 380 other races, but the media is biased in its reporting. They show predominantly African American killings which creates the impression the police and society is racist. This perception increases further hatred as the President endorses the existence of race issues.

I think most of the participants here in RP will be, or are, disgusted by this nonsense because most of us recognize the flag is more than just a piece of fabric with some stars embroidered on it. It represents something that we were willing to protect with our very life. We stand shoulder to shoulder with Black, Brown, Yellow, Red, and White in order to get the job done. This is one of the greatest differences between a Military Man or Woman and a civilian. I say it frequently, there are some dumb people in this world!

Nevertheless, folks should not think for a moment I would stand by and see my family or neighbors or their property hurt. So if someone feels the need to depart planet earth early, bring it!

This sort of "protesting" is absolutely unacceptable. I hope that something is done very soon about all of this uprising because if not this country is going to have a lot of issues the least of which will be the occasional bad cop. I don't exactly understand where this movement shifted gears from essentially "stop violence against minorities" to "to hell with America and all it stands for". So you mean you want justice and constitutional protections but you are against justice and the constitution?

I pray for safety for all those threatened by this group and hope that our political leaders will realize that these groups of people are becoming exactly that which they speak against. They are becoming the hate groups. The anti-government, anti-white hate groups that they started off protesting in the first place.

As for the flag, I can honestly say if I ever saw someone doing what she is doing in that picture nothing good would come of it. Would I win in a fight, probably not but there would most likely be one. Not even a month ago I tearfully handed off my veteran grandfathers flag to my grandmother for his funeral which was quite possibly on of the most emotional things I have ever done. And then to see these mindless idiots performing such acts of disrespect against that flag, that is by far one of the most infuriating things I have seen come from these pointless protests.

I know there is laws to a certain extent about the U.S. military getting involved in local police affairs but I am beginning to think that we need to say to hell with it and start upholding the aspect of our oath to protect and defend against all enemies foreign and DOMESTIC. That is exactly what this is beginning to amount to and I have zero respect for anyone who is so verbally and visually against this country but thinks they should still be afforded it's rights.

Maybe doing what she is doing with the flag, or stepping on it, or just blatantly showing disrespect in general towards this country and it's citizens should be seen as a formal renouncing of your citizenship as an American. You obviously couldn't care less about this country.

Some form of law and punishment needs to be created to put a halt to this or at least slow it's momentum or this country could be looking at another 'Civil War' style conflict, maybe not on that large of a scale but I wouldn't be surprised to see large pockets of violence brewing up in cities where law enforcement and those citizens not involved are essentially forced to just back off and evacuate and let it work its self out for their own safety.

This all began with Communist propoganda. This is how the Soviet Union took over soviet block countries.

Step 1. Get communist(socialist) sympathizers in government.

Step 2: develop a population of people who depend on government for their livelihood. Convince them that they are victims.

Step 3. Create "incidents" that make front page news to outrage the low information crowd with just enough information to make them angry (without telling the whole truth). Wait for the riots.

Step 4: site riots as excuse for suspending liberty and call in a military force to take control.

Step 5: fire everyone who isn't a communist claiming they don't care about the lower class.

Step 6: end Democracy permanently.

Not that I advocate this approach but everytime that I see a picture of one of these riots/violent protests I think of a guy who worked for me about 20 years ago. He had been a Lt. in the Yugoslavian army before the country fell apart and he got pissed everytime that he saw a mob scene on the news. He said "In my country we no put up with this shit! We show up with a jeep with a machinegun mounted on it and if they don't all go home we shoot the bastards!". "We no have momma standing up raving about what a good boy her son was. If momma stand up we shoot her too!".
Since Yugoslavia was a communist country at the time I really did believe him.

The thing that scare me the most about this is that it is going to provide fuel to hate groups such as the Ku Klux Klan and re-energize a movement that had been slowly dying out. The group has peaked and valley'd many times over the last century with the last major surge occurring in the 60's during the civil rights movement. Since then while there are actually more groups, they are small, isolated and generally don't have a whole lot of influence according to David Cunningham, a scholar who studies the group. Providing a common cause and stories like these give them the raw material to energize a new generation, provide cohesion between groups that doesn't presently exist and potentially motivate them to action rather than being content to hold their private hate gatherings that don't result in much, or really any, significant actions. I happened to Watch American History X last night and that movie just scares the hell out of me every time I see it. A friend of mine commented that Martin Luther King has got to be turning in his grave over this unfortunate group that has hijacked the Black Live Matter movement in much the same way ISIL has hijacked Islam. In a word, troubling.

It seems to me that years ago people had troubles with accepting the mixed color races marrying each other and our country began to accept this. I would almost bet many of us have mixture of nationalities. Our children were beginning to be friends and not fighting and then lately it has become a racial problem again when certain things happened. How and why did this happen? Some may have forgotten that not only were the blacks used in slavery but so were the native Americans. Why has all this come about now think about it and I am sure you will have the answer. Our country stopped this behavior before and why is it allowing it today?
