Today, April 25th, 2015 is the 100th anniversary of Australian and New Zealand forces joining together in the Gallipoli campaign in WWI. It is a commemoration day very similar to the US Veteran's or Memorial Day. I, as many of us, am fortunate to have served alongside Aussie and New Zealand forces both in deployed and in garrison. Take a moment today and remember their sacrifice.

The Anzac Day tradition | Australian War Memorial
Anzac Day – 25 April – is one of Australia’s most important national occasions. It marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War.

On ANZAC Day, Australians remember all of their military dead and veterans. It is a VERY big deal Down Under.

You are absolutely correct SMSgt Dan Powell. I am currently stationed in Belgium. We have BBC for our satellite provided and I have been watching live memorial ceremonies since last evening, "Down Under" time...

yes, it is sad to see how the British High Command used the ANZAC forces. There is also a good memorial in Sinai to commemorate them as well
