The Veteran Jobs Mission is the leading private-sector solution addressing U.S. military veteran unemployment.

It began in 2011 as a coalition of 11 leading corporations committed to hiring 100,000 veterans by 2020. Since then, the coalition has grown to more than 200 private-sector companies that represent almost every industry in the U.S. economy. The Veteran Jobs Mission companies have hired 292,645 veterans since 2011.

Building on this momentum, and thanks to the strong contributions veterans have made to the companies that have hired them, the Veteran Jobs Mission has raised its goal to one million U.S. military veterans.

Beyond their ongoing focus on hiring one million veterans, Veteran Jobs Mission members are continuing to increase their focus on retention and career development of Veterans in the private sector. This includes helping veterans adapt to the workplace by establishing mentoring and on-boarding training programs, as well as instituting industry-based coalition subgroups to increase collaboration among member companies.

Love seeing this. I was part of the AT&T team that launched this and am real happy to see it continue to grow.

Pro tip: If you're looking to land at one of these firms, find the military liaison at each one and reach out on linkedin...introduce yourself. If you get stuck, I should be able to help out. I moved on but am still wired into that group.
