An Austin-based singer-songwriter founded Songwritingwith:Soldiers, a free program that pairs professional songwriters with veterans to craft original songs based on their experiences. For many of the 120 military members who have participated, songwriting begins the healing process.

music and song connect emotions and memories, and also sing that song or listening to that music very often? it will reinforce such emotions and memories. If they write song that reinforce good emotions and good memories, it should help a lot.

I've been a student of music since I was 9 years old. It does bring a sense of calm in the midst of chaos. My opinion only; a life without music is a life adrift.
