The only exception was when we ran in or near base housing (which only ever once or twice). <br /><br />I remember getting to base housing and one of our Sgt's who had been a Sgt, more than once, jumped out and created, on the fly, one of the nastiest cadences I ever heard. The Battalion Commander was not amused. His XO came back and told him to stop, he didn't. You can imagine how that ended. A couple of Staff NCO's had to intervene. It became quite popular, and when we marched back from graduation, the drill sergeants had us call it one last time. Never hollered so loud in my life.<br />I'd be interested to see if it gets passed on to the next cycle.
