Have you done this if you have PTSD and are married?

Yesterday I told my wife I was sorry for causing so much friction, however, I still wanted to stay married with her. I could sense she had more confidence. Then I asked I asked her if she wanted to stay married, to which she replied yes. Marriage is our covenant and we feel better about it now.

This is awesome - stay committed to each other - not "the marriage" - either of you can go out and get another "the marriage", but you cannot go out get another one of each other! And remember, PTSD doesn't have to last a lifetime - there are MANY who HAVE HAD PTSD and no longer suffer the symptoms.

It suddenly occurred to me that reveling in my marital confidence can be insensitive, because there are folks who are afraid to talk or ask the question to their spouse.

MAJ Ken Landgren, Thank you for your candid honesty. I go through that with my wife at least once a month. Sometimes once a week. She says hurtful things when she is mad at me, which causes me to get pissed and not speak. Last week she got mad because I forgot to do something she asked me to do. I told her I was sorry. Then she said I couldn't do anything on my own, she has to tell me everything to do. I have severe PTSD and depression which I take meds for. I'm 70 now and I do forget things, but I was doing that over the past five years. We had a big argument this morning which she is over, and I'm still trying to get over it. Sometimes I think it's not worth it. We've been married 37 years. It's good to talk about it to someone who understands. Thank you Sir.

My wife has stood by me for 34 yrs and put up with pfsd for 25 yrs and is still putting up with my sh??. We are still in love but sometimes i go off the deepend and she just waits for me to come back
so my haes off to her for putting up with my crazy mind. I try and do treat her as well as i can. and that helps alot i show my love when i am well..
