There's a BIG difference between a punch & a wooden mallet.

When I was promoted to CPL as a young Jarhead, I was bruised on both arms & legs in a gauntlet, then went to the bar & had enough to drink that I woke up in a gutter in Japan. Good times.

However, we had a few idiots that got carried away during one of these 'promotions,' and the new NCO that went on leave was fortunate enough to have his spleen removed at home.

If we were smart enough to police our own and keep these ceremonies classy and respectful while instilling toughness, then we would not be dealing with the hazing police. It's our own fault that the military has changed, and if you are upset at the change in policy, blame the stupid amongst you.Response by SFC Walter Mack made Jan 15 at 2015 8:29 PM2015-01-15T20:29:01-05:002015-01-15T20:29:01-05:00SPC David S.419773

Spur ride and breaking in.Response by SPC David S. made Jan 15 at 2015 10:25 PM2015-01-15T22:25:32-05:002015-01-15T22:25:32-05:002015-01-08T15:19:46-05:00
