I have not been able to afford insurance this year, just wondering?

Thanks Obama for the fine for not having insurance
Because the the plan I had that was 398.00 a month for my family only increased to 1400.00 a month in 2014
So I chose not to pay 1400.00 a month
So got a nice little fine
Thanks for the affordable care act.
Thanks for making it so affordable.

That my friend, is some Bull$#!t.
Still, beats the hell out of paying those preposterous premiums. I had to make a similar decision.

I guess what shocks me is that very few have put the big picture together. Nothing happens in Washington without MONEY. I feel sorry for people who really think congress or the president does anything to help them. FOLLOW the money. Who is getting rich off of the affordable health care act?...Insurance companies. If you sign up on Obama's health care website and you are given a monthly discount the government is going to pay. So let's say it is $600 a month to get insurance. So you pick a plan that is right at $600 so you won't have to pay anything, but you get bad insurance no real doctor will take and it has a $10,000 deductible. You can't use it and the insurance company gets $600 a month from the government in your name for NOTHING!!! The large companies used their government to get money from you either by you giving it or them taking it. Remember, when they LIED and said it was not a TAX.

I don't see any of the usual suspects defending the "shared responsibility tax." I'm fortunate my insurance is mostly paid for through my employer. unfortunately to keep the costs lower, I have to pay outrageous deductibles and the little purple pill I used to take went from 75 for a three month premium prescription to a 500 every three month ripoff. Now, I'm buying over the counter since no generic is available yet. I'm glad that they sell it that way, other wise I would be paying 2 grand a year for prescription Nexium.

I filed my taxes already and they didn't ask for proof ( I had it ) the IRS has stated that they haven't given the employers enough time to publish the 1099? ( I think that's the form ) they did ask if I had health coverage and yes I have already received my return and the notice the IRS has accepted my filing

As this site is primarily military when you post something off Facebook if you mean to bring light to a situation you really need to put a disclaimer that it is not you

I do not understand the posters with a SM by their name having high costs for healthcare or fines. What am I missing, That wasn't the situation when I was active or even after retirement. Vets, I can somewhat understand, but if you can't afford healthcare, why can't you use the VA and avoid the fine/tax?
