I’m curious to find out more information about what to actually expect once I’m there. I could barely find any information online regarding this. If anyone has gone before and can shed a little bit of light I would greatly appreciate it.Have any cadets or former cadets been to DCLT at Fort Jackson, SC?2019-03-02T16:48:20-05:001LT Kevin Chapman4414637

I was recently slotted to attend CTLC after Advance camp this summer. First session was 2006 as an AIT Company XO. Second session was 2011 as a Basic Training Company Commander.

Expect to be working as junior cadre within the unit. The NCOs will generally respect you, but don't demand salutes since you have not commissioned yet. Don't fraternize with trainees because you may be similar age group. Typical duties include assisting with PT, paperwork assistance, weapons ranges or logistical support. Depending on how the leadership is, you may have long or short hours with Sundays as normal off-days.

Fort Jackson is located in Columbia, SC which is the state capitol. There are some things to do, but you will need car access (i.e. rental car, taxi, Uber/Lyft, etc.).Response by LTC Eugene Chu made Jun 3 at 2019 9:10 AM2019-06-03T09:10:03-04:002019-06-03T09:10:03-04:002019-03-02T16:48:20-05:00
