While it would really hurt me either way, I am interested to know if this is what to expect. So is this true or one of those many false rumors you hear? Thanks!Has the Army started using the ACFT in its schools?2020-01-27T11:29:11-05:00CPL Private RallyPoint Member5488735<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am enrolled to go to BLC this year and have heard rumors that the Army has started using the new PT test in all school(BCT, AIT, NCOES, etc). They had never taken an APFT, only the ACFT until they arrived at DLI. However at AIT's and other schools it seems they are using the APFT for records and just holding ACFT's for diagnostics. I was told by my command that they were required to give us two ACFT diagnostics before this October.Response by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 27 at 2020 11:58 AM2020-01-27T11:58:37-05:002020-01-27T11:58:37-05:00MSG Private RallyPoint Member5488824<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>All NCOES Schools are taking the ACFT while there, and ALC/SLC Are being trained to administer the test as well. They’re making everyone that comes through here take it, but it’s more of an introduction. It’s not record. <br /><br />All prior service here reclassing in the Aviation Brigade are also getting trained and certified as graders and to set up the field. <br /><br />I don’t know that anyone is taking it for record yet. They keep changing standards every other week. It’s not supposed to become the standard until FY21. <br /><br />I don’t know where your MOS falls on the grading scale, but it’s pretty easy. I’m old, broken, and didn’t put forth too much effort when I took it and I passed.Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 27 at 2020 12:43 PM2020-01-27T12:43:35-05:002020-01-27T12:43:35-05:00MAJ Private RallyPoint Member5488995<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I’m at Ft. Lee right now. All the schools from AIT to CCC have it in the curriculum. My understanding is passing the record APFT is the requirement for officers, however, if you do not pass the ACFT it is annotated in the 1059. It will not keep you from graduating, but it is noted. Not sure what that means after that.Response by MAJ Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 27 at 2020 12:58 PM2020-01-27T12:58:07-05:002020-01-27T12:58:07-05:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member5489260<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I just left MSLC during the last class at Fort Benning. A lot of the AAR was focused on taking the ACFT, and leaving the course being able to instruct. Most of our PT was based from the Tactical Athlete Program. We did incorporate some exercises from the test. It takes a lot to just change curriculum. It’s coming though!Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 27 at 2020 2:26 PM2020-01-27T14:26:40-05:002020-01-27T14:26:40-05:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member5490046<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Drill sergeant school, while not a part of the NCOPDS, has incorporated the ACFT fully.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 27 at 2020 6:43 PM2020-01-27T18:43:52-05:002020-01-27T18:43:52-05:00MAJ Private RallyPoint Member5490216<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>When I did DCC we did an apft but we did the ACFT for diagnostic. It was not required to pass the course. Now the last FRAGO that came out on the ACFT was that each school house commander could decide the graduation requirements for the school house. They could also provide alternative events if a student could not pass a certain event (leg tuck was mentioned btw). <br /><br />I am old and I will admit I’m not in the shape I would like to be. I did great at all the ACFT events except for the leg tuck. I couldn’t get the required amount. I can now after just a few weeks of more upper body strength training. <br /><br />The whole plan is units begin performing ACFT for diagnostic purposes so when October 1st rolls around it’s not a shock what the ACFT takes physical fitness wise and no one is failing due to lack of familiarity.Response by MAJ Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 27 at 2020 7:21 PM2020-01-27T19:21:59-05:002020-01-27T19:21:59-05:001SG Private RallyPoint Member5496191<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>In BCT we are administering the ACFT. Expect it to happen Army-wide. It's actually easier to pass than the APFT, much harder to max. Most of the ACFT fails we've had are unable to do the leg tucks. Like anything else, you need to train on it consistently to get good at it. Stop worrying about it and embrace it.Response by 1LT Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 29 at 2020 6:48 PM2020-01-29T18:48:40-05:002020-01-29T18:48:40-05:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member5514556<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I had two Soldiers attend Camp Parks BLC in December and two attend Fort McCoy BLC in January.
