Maj Private RallyPoint Member 525217

Today a co-worker (never served) asked me why I invited him to RallyPoint since he didn't serve in the military. I told him I didn't. When I came home tonight I received an email from my former roommate at Delta Chi, wanting to know the same. He was confused with the invite sent to him, "Please connect to RallyPoint. There are a bunch of people from our unit on there and ey can help you get on the inside track on great career opportunities, See you on RallyPoint... and look rward to catching up!" Misspellings are actually in the invite. My friend responded, " confused by the "people from our unit." Not normal language for frat brothers. Has RallyPoint highjacked your Linked-In or Facebook accounts? What is your opinion about these auto invites? 2015-03-11T19:06:41-04:00 Maj Private RallyPoint Member 525217

Today a co-worker (never served) asked me why I invited him to RallyPoint since he didn't serve in the military. When going through either the registration process, or invitation process, RallyPoint offers the opportunity to invite others from your other social network accounts, but you have to give permission to do so.

If you would like your individual account reviewed, please contact [login to see] with details of what messages were sent, to whom, and when, and they can review your situation. And I understand the required marketing and advertising that has to take place.

What I need to understand is this truly an automated and unacknowledged culling of our contact list or accessing data on our computer in some way?

Is this a check box auto selected and up to the user to find it and deselect it?

Or was this a user selected 'do you want to" and the user inadvertently selected to send the invites to his contact list.
