Has anyone used the Texas Veterans Land Board's auction or financing to get land in Texas? Pros, Cons, good and bad experiences welcome.

I haven't used the auction part but I did use their land loan. It wasn't bad but be prepared to keep on them to meet contract deadlines. They seemed a little overworked and confused sometimes.

SFC Private RallyPoint Member I have not actually used it but I have checked out the land that was being offered during a number of Auctions. You really have to do a thorough research on the property.
Because there maybe issues with the asking price, right of way, easements, equipment/building, septic, terrain, mineral rights to name a few.

It's simple and easy....painless and quick....that is for land purchase... Go for it. Never used the auction...did not know about it. Will have to check it out.

I was outbid on a parcel of land; it was fairly easy to do. You put the bid in via mail, and they open them up in Austin. They will let you know on the web if you won. If not, tough cookie.
