I was a young Soldier on Fort Sam Houston. One particularly chilly morning while waiting on the Post Shuttle I put my hands in my pockets. Along comes a formation of Soldiers on their morning PT run. One of the runners yells out to me "Are your hands cold?" To which I yell back "Yes." He does a quick U-Turn. Needless to say that was my first introduction to the MEDCOM CSM and the no hands in your pocket rule. It did not go well for me.

I still put my hands in my pockets, walk while talking on a cell phone and occasionally other things that are frowned upon. Being away from the flagpole has its advantages. However, when I return to "Big Army" next year I am dreading having to stop these amazing habits I have picked up over the years.

Hey, that's B.S. Everyone knows that pockets are "Air Force Gloves" and only we are allowed to have them. I hope the Army is not trying to copy us, again.
