Has anyone recently attended the 300-F2 critical care paramedic school? If so, what advice or insight do you have about the course?

Has anyone recently attending the 300-F2 critical care paramedic school at Fort Sam Houston? If so any advice or insight into the course? Also, anyone attending the early January class?

I attended it in 2017 along with the other two phases. It was around 2 weeks didactic, in class learning and then the rest of the course is self study. At the end you take class final and then the FP-C. Passing the class final is mandatory to passing the class, obviously. However passing FP-C is not mandatory, it's something the school pays for because they know it is a useful certification. I would strive to pass the FP-C though, most people are passing it now and it doesn't look good if you fail it. There's not a lot to say about the class honestly. After didactic learning your days are split in half between self studying in a classroom at the UTHSCSA flight medic training facility and clinicals around the city at various critical care and secondary / primary care specialists. Most will be at UTHSCSA however some will be at other hospitals as well. Overall the critical Care program was my least favorite program of the flight Paramedic pipeline however if you apply yourself you have the opportunity to learn a lot.

Take a peek at 911 Tactical Medicine community documents. There are a number of available references there that you will find of benefit to begin applying to long term memory. That is a very credible training resource and outstanding group of prior service folks dedicated to keeping the profession moving strong.
