I was assigned this to read with my Civil War studies Course but have not yet, It is supposed to be one of the best memoirs of a general out there. Thoughts?

MSgt Private RallyPoint Member thanks I will be inquiring and looking into purchasing the book. I am a Civil War buff. I am always wanting to know more about the Generals of the Union and Confederate.

Yes, I recall it was only a laborious, single book not two or three volumes, "Complete" notwithstanding. Somehow, I want to link it with Samuel Clemmons.
