Has anyone on RP ever attended Blackhat and or DEFCON conferences?

I just attended Blackhat 2014 and DEFCON 22 for the first time in my career and it was amazing. I haven't seen that many kilts since the last time I watched Braveheart. Also I thought Mohawk haircuts went away after the 80's but there were many of them in every color you imagine.

Yes. I'm from Vegas, and I went to DEFCON for 6 years straight, and Blackhat twice.

DEFCON has long been a hacker/enthusiast gathering, while Blackhat is geared toward more security professionals. Anyone can have a bit of fun at DEFCON, but you have to be a true computer geek to get much out of Blackhat. The more I work in the Computer Security field, the more I long to go back to Blackhat, and gradually lose the desire to go to DEFCON.

We in the Scottish Clans wear our kilts proudly. As for Blackhat and DEFCON I have attended either for quite awhile now. looks like I need to pick back up. I found it to be much the way the Major described a few years back. Don't know about 2014.

Went to both Black Hat and DEFCON in 2008, but on the Government's dime. Not sure I would pay for it out of pocket though. You can access videos and presentations from both conferences after they have ended.
