You get situations where the assigned rater did not have much contact with the rated Soldier during the period and another soldier covered down. <br /><br />It's not supposed to happen as much anymore if the system is used correctly. You have to enter the rating chain to start the support form that is meant to be used by that same rater when the NCOER is actually doneResponse by 1SG Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 3 at 2017 12:11 PM2017-08-03T12:11:02-04:002017-08-03T12:11:02-04:00SGT David T.2796930<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Makes about as much sense as anything else in the Army.Response by SGT David T. made Aug 3 at 2017 12:51 PM2017-08-03T12:51:56-04:002017-08-03T12:51:56-04:00SSG(P) Private RallyPoint Member2797214<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Yup. When leadership fails and a NCO who rates one or more Soldiers leaves the unit without doing Change of Rater NCOERs for his NCOs, someone has to write those evals. Should it happen? Nope. But it does and it is not right. The best you can do if you find yourself in this position is to talk to other NCOs who know the rated NCO and are familiar with his/her character, work ethic, work product, etc.Response by SSG(P) Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 3 at 2017 1:58 PM2017-08-03T13:58:44-04:002017-08-03T13:58:44-04:00SSG Robert Perrotto2798197<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Yep. Happens quite frequently - especially CoR's. Old NCO PCS'ed, You come in, and boom - your are writing NCOER's for 2 team leaders, or 3 squad leaders. You have absolutely no idea what they have done, or if they even deserve the excellents you have to put in.<br /><br />I cannot in good conscious penalize them for what their prior leader failed to do.Response by SSG Robert Perrotto made Aug 3 at 2017 5:39 PM2017-08-03T17:39:25-04:002017-08-03T17:39:25-04:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member2821689<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Yes, well not odered but during deployments you get many NCOs attached to your unit and they leave the Jr. NCO hanging. I have done it for a couple fellow NCOs.Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 11 at 2017 10:12 AM2017-08-11T10:12:36-04:002017-08-11T10:12:36-04:002017-08-03T12:04:44-04:00
