Has anyone gone through the spinal cord stimulator process? I will be getting one soon. How will it affect your career?

I will be getting a spinal cord stimulator soon and I just want to know what will I expect. Also recovery time, and pros and cons about the procedure. Lastly how will it affect my military career? Will I be able to continue or do I need to look at civilian life?
