I'm interested in taking this course, as it offers 3 upper college credits for completion with certificate, as well as taking some physical security courses. I am curious if there is more to it than just registering on STEPP and taking the course like you would any online E-learning.

SGT John Hogg
CSM Richard Welsch was it difficult to take, through that portal, or just as easy to use as ALMS or ATRRS?

You have to register on STEPP but it's pretty easy. You might need the blessing of your first-line supervisor but no NCO in their right mind would deny a soldier an opportunity to better themselves through training. There are a ton of courses and curriculum for you to take, mostly dealing with DoD and industrial security, and there are also education courses and certificates that are worth not just baccalaureate level credits, but graduate level too. All the CDSE courses are definitely worth exploring especially if you are interested in a private sector security job after the military

There are a ton out there. FedVTE, Cybrary, and TEEX for cyber security, MCTFT for counter-drug, CTOS for CBRNE stuff, NIJ for forensics, and don't forget about FEMA EIC for anything emergency management or homeland security related. JKO has a few hundred courses to include language training and many are worth ATRRS DL points, and there is Coursera which offers essentially free college courses online to include national security/terrorism classes.
