Started with the PPU Win 30-30. !st shot jammed the mechanism. I had to do some Smithing on the range to clear it. Put it all back together and tried another single cartridge. Jammed again, Was able to clear it with out pulling the mag tube off this time. Also had some Hornaday and Federal. Tried 3 times with the PPU, never got a good ejection. Switched to the Hornaday, it ran just fine, then the Federal same result. Gave another guy at the range $30.00 worth of ammo and will never buy the PPU againHas anyone else had trouble with PPU brand ammo?2018-05-04T18:10:27-04:00SGT Private RallyPoint Member3600929<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Took my Lever .30-.30 to the range today for the 1st time. I have used it in Soviet guns, and no problem except it was dirty and very smoky. Tried the Brass PPU in a bolt action, and it worked fine also. Not as much smoke this time, and seemed to shoot cleaner. That has been my experience with PPU Ammo. I will also state that I don't buy it unless I am going to do a lot of shooting, and want to save money.Response by TSgt Larry Johnson made May 4 at 2018 6:17 PM2018-05-04T18:17:07-04:002018-05-04T18:17:07-04:00MSgt Steven Holt, NRP, CCEMT-P3601262<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I've only ever fired it in my SKS. I only use Federal in my .308 since that's what I used to zero the scope. Can't really give any advice on PPU for other firearms. <a class="dark-link bold-link" role="profile-hover" data-qtip-container="body" data-id="1348042" data-source-page-controller="question_response_contents" href="/profiles/1348042-tsgt-larry-johnson">TSgt Larry Johnson</a> may have hit on the problem though. It looks like you've got your answer already, but let us know if you can make it happen with "good" ammo.Response by TSgt David L. made May 5 at 2018 12:46 AM2018-05-05T00:46:09-04:002018-05-05T00:46:09-04:00SGT David A. But the casings seized my bolt up and needed to take a dead blow to the bolt to free it up.Response by AN Shane Walter made Jun 21 at 2020 1:41 PM2020-06-21T13:41:02-04:002020-06-21T13:41:02-04:002018-05-04T18:10:27-04:00
