Has anyone else been seeing a trend in companies not willing to hire if they have to do any training?

The big push if for young people to get their education and training. Most of us joined the service with the plan to do both serving our country. I have both training and a BS in my field, but I'm finding that its just not enough for some employers

I lost a temp job recently because quote, "I know you could learn the job, but we would rather have someone who can just walk into the position." The below article talks about companies that want experience, but don't want to train. Has anyone else run into this?

If everyone is hiring for the ability to do a job, rather than for the potential to do it well, how does anyone get that initial experience?
