Has anyone attended 31B ALC at Fort Leonard Wood recently? What should I be aware of and what can I do to be ready? 2017-12-26T19:58:39-05:00 SFC Private RallyPoint Member 3202340

Just wondering about people tips for what to be aware of beforehand or anything additional I can do to be ready before I report. TRADOC is not allowing alcohol for any Soldier, regardless of rank, while in student status. At least, that was the policy 2 yrs ago when I went thru ALC Phases 2 and 3. Otherwise, everything you will need to know can be found in the ATRRS information section for your course and the NCOA Welcome Letter. I would brush up on Microsoft Word before hand, that way your not learning these things while in school.
In regards to measuring your margins and spacing, bring a ruler! While your margins may be right on YOUR INDIVIDUAL computer, if you open a document on another computer (I.E in the Candle Wood computer lab) and then your print it out, the margins will be thrown completely off. It is key to check the measurements of your Memorandums when you print them out. And for PETE SAKE, Don't Plagiarize your MEMO! We had one person get dropped because of it, and eventually they got kicked out of the Military. If any of your fellow NCO's offer to give you theirs as an EXAMPLE, Just stay away from it. Do the work.

In regards to internet, don't waste your time with the internet in your room, go to the Candle Wood just down the street. A lot of my classmates and I met up for some pretty late nights going over each others Memorandums.

PRT - Go over it with your classmates outside of class. Literally go to the basketball court next to the DFAC and rehearse out loud, that way you can hear how you sound.

Last, have fun and make friends. You will run into these people later down the road. While it is a professional school, have fun on your days off. Best I can tell you, we are actually not suppose to tell you or show you anything about it.
